Impecable Mirrors

Vidrios Francisco made its way into an innovative model of production and business.

Francisco had a door and window manufacturing company in San Miguel, but he had to close it down because he couldn’t go into clients’ houses during the pandemic. At that time, he came up with an idea to reinvent himself: selling mirrors. This is the story of Vidrios Francisco.

Vidrios Francisco kicked off in May 2020, two months after closing his previous company. Francisco thought this business would not imply getting into people’s houses. Mirrors could be delivered almost contactless while keeping on working.

This is a family business: He first hired siblings, then cousins, and later on brothers-in-law. Every new employee would recommend others and they are more than 30 today. They work in shifts, from 6 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at their factory and showroom in San Miguel, Buenos Aires.

Today it is estimated that 1 in 10 mirrors sold in Argentina is manufactured in their plant! And they produce up to 300 mirrors, among other decoration products.

From the beginning, they chose Mercado Pago as the only method of collection for their sales. It is an agile system that even customers ask for: it is not the same to make an operation from Mercado Pago than from a bank. The sale is faster and safer.

On the other hand, banking tools are used only for internal operations, such as the payment of salaries and suppliers, but in the showroom they charge with Point. The delivery vans have QR and customers from the rest of the country are sent a payment link.

To digitalize the new business they had to be trained and advised because people had to trust them before buying from them. On Instagram they are a kind of success. Those celebrities and influencers who follow them also help to legitimize the brand and make them known.

For the future, they want to maintain what they have achieved. They define it like this: it's work and it's a lot. They hope to continue as they are because that will make the people who accompanied them until today can still be with them and have more work and a better job.
